Vintage Soap Opera Classic: The Brighter Day (May 15, 1955)

I never listened to soaps on the radio in the 1940s and 50s but in high school from 1956 to 1958 I used to watch The Edge Of  Night and other soap operas when I came home from school in the afternoon. The soaps were done live then and in black and white on TV.
And they were real simple. Usually the sets were just a living room and kitchen. Both very middle or low class.
Nothing fancy.
Two people would sit in the kitchen and talk about relationships and drink coffee.
Then one would say at some point "Do you want some more coffee?"
That was about it.
And I liked that it was live. Sometimes the old actors and actresses would forget their lines. And they would sometime bump into the furniture.

Mucca Pazza @ Empty Bottle, Chicago 06/02/07 Shaye Cohn On Accordion

This is the only video I can find on Youtube that clearly shows Shaye Cohn playing accordion with Mucca Pazza. I was really lucky to see this band in Millenlium Park in Chicago on Labor Day 2005. I had been feeling tired and they came marching in and really woke me  and the place up. For best viewing click on the video the click on the label youtube at the bottom to go to you tube and then click to watch full screen to see Shaye Cohn on accordion standing in the middle of the front row.

Happy Birthday Rachel Lefebure Stewart

See two posts below this one for some of my favorite pictures of her.

This morning there was a large rainbow at 7 a.m. Very pretty.

Two hours later it began to rain and rained hard all day.   First rain here in well over a month or two.

Below are some pictures Rachel took on Sanibel Island Florida. One of her favorite places.
